Our Experience
John has been a Memphis piano tuner since 1976. In-home concert tuning, repairs, and restoration is his specialty.
In the past John has tuned for Yamaha, Kawai, Steinway, Baldwin and Samick dealerships in the Memphis and Shelby County area. He has logged many hours repairing older pianos and newer ones. He greatly enjoys restoring older grands and uprights.Â
Fine tuning newer pianos of quality gives him equal pleasure. Concert tuning for all pianos is always his goal.Â
A piano should be tuned at least once every year.Â

Churches, schools, teachers, musicians, and concert promoters are also welcome to call. We have tuned for many world-famous musicians.
And if you are wondering, we do not use an electronic tuning device. We tune strictly by ear!
Piano tuning prices in Shelby County start at $190. Concert event prices start at $275.
A pitch raise is more, and pianos that have not been serviced for many years may run a little higher.
Tuning prices outside of Shelby County start at $225 and up.
Repairs are extra. This includes sticking keys, broken strings (those already broken and any that break during tuning), plus all other broken parts and any regluing.
We cannot give complete repair prices unless we see the instrument. An estimate or appraisal in Shelby County is $120.
An estimate outside of Shelby County starts at $150 and up. Out-of-county prices will depend on mileage. If you can give enough details about your piano on the phone I may be able to give a price range.
